B-DAY DAVID BOWIE - THURSDAY'S CHILD - LIVE IN ITALY 1999
Although you're now "somewhere else", your presence here is more vivid than ever, sweet Thursday's Child .... so alive as the Immortals know be. And this classy ballad, simple and direct, poignant, always will tell about your poetic way of crossing the density of the doubt with the grace of a smile. Thank you so much, beloved Master.

DAVID BOWIE - BRING ME THE DISCO KING - LIVE JAPAN 2004
Переглядів 13 тис.8 років тому
Elegant and sinuous melody, of a sumptuous intensity. Metaphorical gem, in a retrospective vision with a deep flavor of regret. Jazzy song with a long gestation, since the 90s, but released only in 2003. Crystalline notes by Mike Garson and silken voice by David Bowie, both of rare finesse.

★ Bowie's music, embodiment of all the Rock's fascinations and contradictions, has however the deepest roots within it, in the mean time more and more refined towards a stylistic universal language so that to make him become the most elusive and esoteric Artist of the great Rock's leaders, up to the (nth) revolutionary expression of today ★ Always eager to reinvent himself, with Tin Machine was...
DAVID BOWIE - Always a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to You!
Переглядів 65 тис.10 років тому
One of the most fascinating stars in the musical sky of all time. One of the artists most free, intelligent, eclectic, provocative, who continues to give us an alternative universe of Art that comes to life in our inner space, helping to enrich the joy of "that child playing innocently with the human existence" in this chaotic physical world. Thanks dear David, always a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
DAVID BOWIE - IF THERE IS SOMETHING - LIVE 1991
Переглядів 37 тис.10 років тому
True classic Rock ambiance, simple and profound: very well done by skilled rock-musicians having a sincere fun together with a top-notch singer; sonority with a rhythmic impact excellently conceived, full of cool energy; outside by concern on what's popular or according the averages of listening; freedom to run a cover made one's own, embodied albeit respecting the original. If Bowie had not be...
DAVID BOWIE - I CAN'T READ - LIVE 1992 - HQ

What's an all-round Artist: composer, singer, theatrical interpreter, guitar player, musical arranger, scenographer, communicator thought-provoking. An excellent piece, in which follow one another rhythmic variations and sound dimensions with which Bowie (signed TM) dominates as always the scene. Bowie is... BOWIE.

For a pure Rock with a complex and daring sound as that released in recent days by Bowie, the creation process comes by afar, also thanks to courageous experiments like TM project, which ranged from the classical past until to precede the alternative trends. An Artist without borders, by own ingeniousness is able to cross lights&shades of the Great Rock.

Hmm, even an unlikely future could come true, "'cause you can never really tell when somebody wants something you want too"... Beloved David, at all events and forever grateful, we wish you a long Journey joyful, shining in your own stellar Light: Happy Birthday to you! Taken from the second album of the Tin Machine, in a Hard Rock simpler and closer to the Bowie's stylistic: one of the few songs that later went on to present in his Tours. "Hello humans nothing starts tomorrow", whereby, energy can change by means of our free will... Merry Christmas and Happy 2013 to all "Babies Universal" !

One highlight of the Tin Machine that, in addition to showcasing the amazing capacity of Bowie in the lowest register of his voice (alternated to the highest tones), is one of the most interesting sonic textures created by DB.

Even if nothing revolutionary, the Tin Machine's experience marked a turning point for Bowie, thereby contributing to a relaunching for the subsequent periods. Unfairly overlooked and much criticized, nevertheless a well done Rock to which DB always knows give a touch of class, with a ceaseless rhythm section that brings us simply to the original situation most frank and sincere of the Rock Ban...
DAVID BOWIE - WAITING FOR THE MAN - LIVE DUBLIN 1997
Переглядів 7 тис.11 років тому
Again a tribute to The Velvet Underground, excellent American Group particularly valued by Bowie. A tale of urban psychosis set in Harlem that David has made less harsh and that has presented live in many Tours from the beginning of the career, since felt in love at once with that Rock form, then, deepened to perfection. One of the lesser known versions, by a concert full of vitality and joy.
DAVID BOWIE - WHITE LIGHT, WHITE HEAT - LIVE 2004
Переглядів 18 тис.12 років тому
From one of The Velvet Underground's masterpieces: it had been set to music harshly an effect of artificial "light and heat" that Bowie has reshaped with a musical arrangement whereby, through its round of blues, here achieves a harmonious and sparkling whole among the brightest of the Rock spirit.
DAVID BOWIE - SISTER MIDNIGHT - LIVE 2004

One of the most beautiful funky riffs by Carlos Alomar (including the most famous "Fame", "Stay" and "Golden Years") planned during the American collaboration with Bowie. Later this song, co-written with Iggy Pop, was released as "Red Money" for the Lodger album.

There was a slight flub in the transition between Adrians’s intro and the first verse… But true to form, the rhythm section never missed a beat and they fell right back into it… Phenomenal band!!!

This ain't rock'n'roll, this is genocide As they pulled you out of the oxygen tent You asked for the latest party With your silicone hump and your ten inch stump Dressed like a priest you was Todd Browning's freak you was Crawling down the alley on your hands and knee I'm sure you're not protected, for it's plain to see The diamond dogs are poachers and they hide behind trees Hunt you to the ground they will, mannequins with kill appeal I'll keep a friend serene (Will they come?) Oh baby, come unto me (Will they come?) Well, she's come, been and gone Come out of the garden, baby You'll catch your death in the fog Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs The Halloween Jack is a real cool cat And he lives on top of Manhattan Chase The elevator's broke, so he slides down a rope Onto the street below, oh Tarzie, go man go Meet his little hussy with his ghost town approach Her face is sans feature, but she wears a Dali brooch Sweetly reminiscent, something mother used to bake Wrecked up and paralyzed, Diamond Dogs are stabilized I'll keep a friend serene (Will they come?) Oh baby, come unto me (Will they come?) Well, she's come, been and gone Come out of the garden, baby You'll catch your death in the fog Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs Oo-oo-ooh, call them the Diamond Dogs Oo-oo-ooh, call them the Diamond Dogs In the year of the scavenger, the season of the bitch Sashay on the boardwalk, scurry to the ditch Just another future song, lonely little kitsch (There's gonna be sorrow) try and wake up tomorrow I'll keep a friend serene (Will they come?) Oh baby, come unto me (Will they come?) Well, she's come, been and gone Come out of the garden, baby You'll catch your death in the fog Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs Oo-oo-ooh, call them the Diamond Dogs Oo-oo-ooh, call them the Diamond Dogs Bow-wow, woof woof, bow-wow, wow Call them the Diamond Dogs Dogs Call them the Diamond Dogs, call them, call them Call them the Diamond Dogs, call them, call them, ooo Call them the Diamond Dogs Keep cool Diamond Dogs rule, ok Hey-hey-hey-hey Beware of the Diamond Dogs Beware of the Diamond Dogs Beware of the Diamond Dogs Source: LyricFind Songwriters: David Bowie

I’m a late GenXer. When Bowie passed, more than a couple older fans I spoke to were quick to try to gatekeep and say I couldn’t have been a fan, as if his career ended after the 70s or something. They had no idea that he was doing his best work long after they stopped listening.

I'm 65 and saw his Ziggy tour in 72. I do like early Bowie best, maybe because I was in my youth. But his genius continued till that awful day we lost him . I love that generations after me love him. I am borderline obsessed with him and are happy you are a fan. Outside is one of my favorite records from him....and that was 1995.
